SOLAR combines UVB, UVA and full-spectrum visible light in one linear fixture, with independent channel intensity and schedules. UV Focus offers separate, compact UVB Focus and UVA Focus fixtures, each with integrated visible light. The two formats can be positioned and controlled individually.

Start with the enclosure width: 300UV is specified for up to 40 cm, 450UV up to 50 cm, 600UV up to 70 cm and 900UV up to 100 cm. Also consider the species, distance to the basking area and enclosure layout. Width alone does not determine the correct UV setting.

UVB Focus uses 305 nm UVB with a focused 60° beam. UVA Focus uses 365 nm UVA with a wider 100° beam. They provide different lighting channels, not two interchangeable versions of the same light. Both include visible light.

No. The model dimensions, power consumption and lumen figures apply to SOLAR, not UV Focus. For model-specific UV Focus specifications, contact SPECTERRA Europe.

SOLAR includes support legs for installation above a mesh-top enclosure. UV Focus includes bolt mounting beneath the enclosure top. Magnetic mounting is optional for both product families; the UV Focus stand is also an optional accessory, sold separately.

The light is positioned inside the enclosure, beneath the glass, and held by magnets outside the top panel. This arrangement places the light directly over the basking area without the glass between the light and the animal.

Confirm accessory compatibility and the installation requirements for your enclosure before fitting it.

Enter the actual distance from the light to the basking area, not the total enclosure height. Use the appropriate species preset and refine the settings for the animal’s condition and enclosure environment.

You need Bluetooth and compatible SPECTERRA lighting. The Android app is linked on our SPECTERRA App page; check its official Google Play listing for current device requirements and availability. Available controls depend on the connected lighting hardware.

Yes. SOLAR provides independent schedules for UVB, UVA and visible light. Gradual sunrise and sunset transitions apply to all three channels. The UVB and UVA timers can each be set up to 8 hours.

No. Timer capacity is a control limit, not an exposure recommendation. The general UVB guidance of 1–5 hours per day must be adjusted for the species, individual animal and enclosure. Exposure time alone does not establish an appropriate UV dose.

For animal-specific care requirements, seek qualified reptile husbandry or veterinary advice.

No. The selected species and basking distance provide a starting combination for automatic intensity and exposure suggestions. Fine-tune UVB, UVA and visible light for the individual animal and environment. Choosing an incorrect species may result in inadequate exposure.

Four habitat categories organise the examples: Tropical, Savanna, Desert and Semi-Aquatic. Check the app for its current species selection.

The UVB and UVA readouts use measured output data rather than percentages. Treat them as a reference for the lighting settings; do not assume they are live UV readings from inside the enclosure. Check the requirements of your species and setup. Values shown in website interface images are examples, not universal settings.

Yes. Group two or more SOLAR units and use a main light to coordinate power and timers. Each fixture retains its own UV output, brightness and enclosure settings. This grouping feature is described for SOLAR; check the UV Focus product page for its dedicated formats and controls.

SOLAR records UVB and UVA intensity and exposure time, with averages over 7, 30 and 90 days. Compare changes in the daily pattern to inform refinements to lighting intensity and exposure over the longer term.
